IDEA, Amerika Birleşik Devletlerinin orta batısında bulunan ve özellikle de yabancı üniversite öğrencilerinin dolup taşmadığı birçok yüksek okul ile yıllardan beri iletişim halindedir. IDEA yıllardan beri yüksek okullar arasında başarılı iletişimi sayesinde her sene IDEA’nın özel anlaşması çerçevesinde yüzlerce genel ve başarı burslarını temin etmektedir.

International Doorway to Education and Athletics Corp. (IDEA), burs organizasyonu alanında altı yıllık tecrübesi ile Amerika Birleşik Devletlerinde yerleşmiş olan bir firmadır. Amerika Birleşik Devletlerin 25 eyaletinde yerleşik 70’den fazla yüksek okul IDEA’nın burs programına katılmaktadır. 6 yıl içinde 700 den fazla öğrenciye burslar başarılı bir şekilde verilmiştir ve bunun için 31 milyon 500,000 US$ dan fazla burs parası toplanılmıştır–sadece 2002 yılı itibarı ile 7,000,00 US$ toplanılmıştır.

Başvurunuz IDEA ’nın  uluslararası ( Almanya ve Türkiye 'de dahil) resmi temsilcisi college-contact.com 'a ulaştırılacaktır.

Hemen başvuru ardından  IDEA size toplam 7 burs teklifi sunacaktır. Arzulanan yüksek okul ve üniversite bölümü tabii ki dikkate alınmaktadır!

 IDEA size üniversitelerden  ilk önce 2 burs teklifi gönderir. Bu 2 teklif, öğrenim süresince yüksek okul ücretlerini, barınma ve beslenme giderlerini karşılanabilmesi için azami 7.000 US$ size yıllık bir ek ödeme kalacak şekilde burs temin etmektedir (yani yaşam koşulları Türkiye 'ye  göre pahalı fakat Almanya ’daki yaşam koşulları ile benzer bir düzeyde). Bu meblağ verilen bursla beraber yıllık toplam bazen 15.000-20.000 $ a eşdeğer olarak yansımaktadır.

 IDEA size yüksek okul ve üniversitelerden 5 burs teklifi daha gönderir. Bu 5 burs teklifi, öğrenim süresince üniversite ücretlerinin, barınma ve beslenme giderlerinin en az %50 ini karşılayacaktır. 

Bu 7 bursu istemezseniz sizden hiç bir ücret talep edilmeyecektir.

Burs almak isterseniz yani burs sağlanıldığı taktirde, bu bursun organizasyonu ve  başvuru işlemleri ve de yapılan harcamalar için sizden  bir defaya mahsus toplam 1.700 $ lık bir ödeme alınmaktadır.

Evraklar başvuruyu yapan kişinin profiline göre düzenlenmektedir, yani öğrenimini yurtdışında sürdürebilmek için öğrencinin akademik ve okul dışındaki başarıları yüksek okulun talep ettiği profil ile denk gelmesi gerekmektedir. Sözü edilen yüksek okul ve üniversiteler özellikle Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Alabama ve Georgia’da bulunan itibarlı yüksek okullardır.

İki tür burs çeşidi vardır : a) Genel burs ve b) Başarı bursları. Genel burs işlemlerinde akademik başarınız konusunda herhangi bir şart konulmamaktadır, yani gerekli başvuruyu yapan herkes buna dahil edilebilir. Başarı burslarında ise sizin şimdiye kadar elde etmiş olduğunuz akademik başarılarınız göz önünde tutularak burs temin edilmektedir; yani TOEFL testi+ Bölüm yada orta öğrenim başarı ortalaması, başkaca beceri ve başarılarınız gibi –spor ve sosyal becerileriniz de bunlara dahil edilebilir!

Başarı bursları söz konusu olsa da yüksek öğrenimin devamını sağlayacak bursu alabilirsin, çünkü üniversiteler nadiren 1 yıllık burs vermektedir ve Avrupa Üniversitelerinde öğrenim şartları buradaki yüksek okullarla kıyas edilirse, Avrupa  üniversite öğrencisi için buradaki Üniversitelerin daha kolay şartları vardır. Yani sınavlarda başarılı sonuçlar elde etmek oldukça kolaydır ve bu haliyle yüksek öğrenimini bitirinceye kadar burs sağlanabilmektedir.

Değerlendirmeye alınan yüksek okullar özellikle Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Alabama ve Georgia’da bulunan itibarlı okullardır. Okullar verilen burslara göre farklılık gösterdikleri için size ancak adları aşağıda yazılı birkaç örnek verebilmekteyiz:

Ne kadar süre içersinde bursu alabilirim?

Başvurunu teslim ettikten sonra 30 iş günü içersinde size en az 7 üniversite yada College’den burs teklifi gelecektir. Bundan sonra hangi üniversiteye başvurmak istediğinizi kararlaştırabilmek için 20 gün gibi bir zamanın var. IDEA sana başvuru formaliteleri konusunda yardımcı olabilir tabii ki. Eğer 2005 Bahar yarıyılında üniversite öğrenimine başlamak istiyorsan (başlama tarihi Ocak başlangıcıdır) en geç 04.10.2004 tarihine kadar bize başvurmuş olmalısın. Sonbahar yarıyılı için son başvuru tarihi ise 01.06.2005 dır (başlama tarihi Ağustos ortasıdır).

Bir üniversitenin burs teklifini kabul eder etmez müracaatına ek olarak, ilk yılın yaşam giderlerine mukabil olan parayı alabileceğine dair garanti veren banka kefaletini eklemelisin.

Akademik Burs Hizmetleri  işlemleri için sizden  1.700 ABD $ talep edilmektedir.

- En az 2 üniversiteden gelecek olan uygun meblağdaki bursun temini. Bursa ek olarak sizin ödeyeceginiz yıllık azami 7.000 ABD $ ile yüksek okulda öğrenim için gerekli tüm masraflar; yani okul ücreti, barınma ve beslenme karşılanabilecektir (ABD  'de yaşam koşulları Türkiye 'ye  göre pahalı fakat Almanya ’daki yaşam koşulları ile benzer bir düzeyde). Dikkat : 1.700 ABD $ ını taksitle de ödeyebilirsin: ilk 700 ABD $ nı müracaat esnasında ve ikinci taksidi 1000  ABD $ nı bursu kabul ettiğinde ödeyebilirsin. Eğer senin istediğin bölümler için burs yok ise, yani istediğin bölüm için burs verebilecek Üniversite bulunamaz ise ödediğin ücretin tamamını geri alma hakkına sahipsin.
